What are fad diets

What Are Fad Diets?

With obesity predicted to affect over fifty percent of the population by 2050, the reign of ‘fad diets’ and ‘quick weight loss schemes’ has boomed to epic proportions. From the cabbage diet to the Quantum Wellness to the 48 Hour Miracle diet, all of these diet  dietsall claim to promote immediate weight loss and experience increased metabolic activity.

But do they work?

On occasion… Aside from helping you to achieve fast weight loss, the vast majority of slimmer’s have experienced little weight losses of just 1-4lbs before hitting a plateau.

More worryingly, once dieters stopped using these said diets they soon regained all excess lbs lost.

But are they safe?

Whilst it is true that some of the top celebrity  can help slimmers to witness fast weight losses, almost all of them cannot be used for over 2 weeks

Depriving your body of essential nutrients required to ensure your body is working at maximum levels, many involve reducing your calorie intake to less than 1,000 calories a day– more than 50%  your recommended daily allowance.

Accompanied by strict exercise routines and constant calorie counting, celebrity diets run the complication of causing you to feel quezy, fatigued, unable to concentrate and more worryingly prevent your body from working properly – All of which are bad for your health.

Are they easy to spot?

Fad diets are easier to spot than you imagine. Proclaiming to offer you a fast solution to your weight loss concerns, you can often tell a fad diet by their:

•    Too good to be true claims
•    Lack of clinical trials
•    Elimination of one if not more of the five daily food groups
•    Recommendations from studies without reviews from other researchers

When a weight loss programme or herbal slimming pills, it is always important to thoroughly analyse their studies first before including them into your weight loss programme. If there is no medical evidence that  they can produce quality weight loss results, then they are too good to be true.
